Product Updates: E-Invoicing and EPR Reporting Made Easier
- We’ve added the EU PINT standard to the Peppol network.
Lovat’s e-invoicing tools now work with the new Peppol PINT Billing standard, which is the newest European format for digital invoicing. This global spec is based on Peppol BIS 3.0 and provides a single structure that functions inside and outside the EU.
With the Peppol PINT extension, businesses can send invoices worldwide without needing different formats for each country. This simplifies e-invoicing compliance, improves how systems work together, and makes sure every transaction meets the newest EU data standards.
Businesses already on the Peppol network will automatically get these updates. New users can ask Lovat for help with setup and integration.
- New, single file for EPR uploads
Our second update makes it easier for clients to handle extended producer responsibility (EPR) reporting. We’ve created a single upload file that replaces the old templates for different product types.
Now, one dataset covers all EPR categories for every country. Users can upload transaction data once, and the system automatically sorts it into the correct EPR categories and creates reports for each country.
This automation cuts down on mistakes, simplifies EPR data management, and ensures full extended producer responsibility compliance in all markets.
EPR is Expanding Worldwide
Regulations are growing globally for extended producer responsibility (EPR) on producers and importers. Here’s what’s new this year in the EPR world:
- EU Standardizes Textile EPR
By September 2025, EU countries need to have the same EPR plans for textiles. This change creates a standard system where producers – ncluding sellers outside the EU – will pay for collection, sorting, and recycling. Businesses will need to update their extended producer responsibility steps and sign up in each relevant market. Learn more
- India Adds EPR for Metals
From April 2026, India will have new EPR rules for materials like aluminum and copper. Manufacturers, importers, and recyclers must sign up on the CPCB site and report each year on their collection and recycling work. Lovat can assist in making sure your extended producer responsibility is smooth by automating data collection and regulatory filings in India.
- Australia Starts Battery EPR
In the second quarter of 2026, Australia will begin to enforce the Product Lifecycle Responsibility Act 2025, which requires EPR for batteries. The law may grow to include other products later. Our platform has templates for extended producer responsibility in Australia, so companies can stay ready for the changes. Read more about EPR in Australia
- Germany Updates Battery Law
Germany’s new BattDG replaces the old BattG, bringing its laws in line with EU rules on batteries. The changes include stricter rules on labeling, recycled content, and supply chain checks. Producers should update how they comply to meet the new EPR needs and avoid fines. Learn more
- Hong Kong Creates Single EPR System
The Recycling and Disposal Bill 2025 sets up one EPR system covering producer registration, funding, and reporting duties. This shows Hong Kong is moving toward a combined extended producer responsibility setup that creates consistency across industries and lowers environmental impact.

VAT and digital reporting changes
- Chile VAT on cheap imports
Starting October 25, 2025, sellers from outside Chile and online stores in Chile must sign up under a simpler system. They’ll need to collect 19% VAT on packages worth up to US$500. The old US$41 minimum is gone. Online stores might be seen as the VAT supplier. Businesses should check their payment systems to make sure they calculate the right tax and send it on time using the SII’s Form F129 online return. If companies get ready early, they can follow VAT rules and keep their online sales running smoothly. Learn more
- EU Digital Product Passport launch
The EU is launching the Digital Product Passport in October 2025 as part of its Circular Economy Action Plan. Manufacturers will have to gather and share data on what products are made of, how sustainable they are, and how easy they are to fix. Starting in 2027, certain product types must provide standard online data that can be accessed throughout the supply chain. Getting product and supplier databases in order early will help with extended producer responsibility (EPR) and future VAT reporting systems that might connect to product data transparency.
